Camps Equinunk & Blue Ridge are seeking a calm, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic Yoga Instructor to support our wellness and fitness programming for the summer. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about yoga, mindfulness, and helping campers develop balance, flexibility, and positive movement habits in a camp environment.
The Yoga Instructor plays an important role in promoting physical and mental wellness while contributing to a supportive and inclusive camp culture.
Role Overview
As a Yoga Instructor, you will lead age-appropriate yoga sessions focused on flexibility, strength, balance, and relaxation. You’ll create a welcoming and supportive environment that introduces campers to mindful movement and breathing while encouraging participation and confidence.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead group yoga classes for campers of varying ages and ability levels
- Teach proper yoga poses, breathing techniques, and basic mindfulness
- Adapt instruction to ensure safety and accessibility for all participants
- Promote relaxation, focus, and positive self-awareness
- Maintain a safe, calm, and organized class environment
- Assist with setup and care of mats and equipment
- Serve as a positive role model within the camp community
Age Requirement
- Must be 21 years or older by the start of camp
Required Experience
- Yoga instruction experience or strong personal practice with teaching background
- Experience leading group fitness or wellness sessions preferred
- Comfort working with children or teens in a structured setting
Required Skills
- Knowledge of yoga poses, alignment, and breathing techniques
- Clear, calm communication and instructional skills
- Patient, supportive teaching style

Certifications & Additional Requirements
- Yoga certification
- Group workout class certification
- Ability to meet all camp background check and staff training requirements
