Camp Blue Ridge, the girls campus of Camps Equinunk & Blue Ridge, is seeking an experienced female Head Softball Coach to lead our softball program for the summer. This leadership role is ideal for a coach who is passionate about teaching softball, mentoring young athletes, and creating a positive, confidence-building sports environment for girls.
The Head Softball Coach plays a central role in program development, instruction, and team culture while serving as a strong role model within the camp community.
Role Overview
As the Head Softball Coach, you will be responsible for planning and leading all aspects of the softball program at Camp Blue Ridge. This includes organizing daily practices, teaching fundamental and advanced skills, overseeing games and scrimmages, and fostering teamwork and sportsmanship. You will work closely with athletic leadership and help create a fun, structured, and supportive experience for campers of varying ages and skill levels.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead daily softball practices, drills, and instructional sessions
- Teach fundamental and advanced softball skills including hitting, fielding, throwing, and base running
- Organize games, scrimmages, and skill-based activities
- Foster teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship among campers
- Provide individualized coaching and constructive feedback
- Manage softball equipment and ensure proper setup and care
- Maintain a safe, organized, and positive field environment
- Serve as a positive female role model and mentor for campers
Age Requirement
- Must be 21 years or older by the start of camp
Required Experience
- Strong softball background (playing and/or coaching experience)
- Previous experience coaching or instructing children or teens
- Ability to lead a program and work with campers of varying skill levels

- In-depth understanding of softball fundamentals and rules

Certifications & Additional Requirements
