Camps Equinunk & Blue Ridge are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Tennis Coach to lead our tennis program for the summer. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about tennis instruction and enjoys working with campers of varying ages and ability levels in a supportive camp environment.
The Tennis Coach plays a key role in developing skills, fostering sportsmanship, and creating a positive athletic experience both on and off the court.
Role Overview
As the Tennis Coach, you will be responsible for planning and leading daily tennis instruction, organizing drills and match play, and helping campers improve technique, confidence, and enjoyment of the game. You’ll work closely with athletic leadership to ensure a well-structured program while serving as a positive role model within the camp community.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead daily tennis practices, drills, and instructional sessions
- Teach fundamental and advanced tennis skills including strokes, footwork, and match strategy
- Organize games, match play, and skill-based activities
- Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive attitudes
- Provide individualized instruction and feedback to campers
- Assist with equipment setup, care, and organization
- Maintain a safe and organized court environment
- Serve as a positive role model on and off the court
Age Requirement
- Must be 18 years or older by the start of camp
Required Experience
- Strong tennis background (competitive playing and/or coaching experience)
- Experience instructing children or teens preferred
- Ability to teach campers of varying ages and skill levels
Required Skills
- Solid understanding of tennis fundamentals, rules, and techniques
- Clear communication and instructional skills
- Organized, patient, and encouraging coaching style
- Strong leadership and teamwork abilities
- Ability to maintain structure in a fun camp setting
Certifications & Additional Requirements
- Coaching qualification required
- Experience coaching preferred
- Ability to meet all camp background check and staff training requirements
