Camps Equinunk & Blue Ridge are seeking a Baseball Assistant Coach to support our baseball program for the summer. This role is ideal for an individual with strong baseball knowledge who enjoys coaching, mentoring, and working with young athletes in a camp setting.
This position focuses on player development, teamwork, and sportsmanship while contributing to a positive and structured athletic environment.
Role Overview
As the Baseball Assistant Coach, you will work closely with the Head Baseball Coach to help plan and run daily practices, drills, and games. You’ll support skill development across age groups, assist with instruction, and help create an encouraging atmosphere where campers can improve their abilities and confidence on the field.
In addition to coaching responsibilities, you will be an active member of the camp community and a positive role model for campers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Baseball Coach with daily practices and instruction
- Help teach fundamental baseball skills including throwing, catching, hitting, and fielding
- Support game play, scrimmages, and skill-based drills
- Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive attitudes
- Provide individualized feedback and support to campers
- Assist with equipment setup, maintenance, and organization
- Serve as a positive role model on and off the field
Age Requirement
- Must be 21 years or older by the start of camp
Required Experience
- Strong background in baseball (playing and/or coaching experience)
- Experience working with children or teens preferred
- Ability to instruct campers of varying skill levels
Required Skills
- Solid understanding of baseball fundamentals and game rules
- Ability to teach skills clearly and patiently
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Positive, encouraging coaching style
- Ability to work collaboratively with athletic staff
Certifications & Additional Requirements
- Coaching certifications are a plus but not required
- Ability to meet all camp background check and staff training requirements
- CPR / First Aid certification preferred
