Camp Danbee is hiring for summer 2024!
Camp Danbee is a seven-week summer camp for girls, located in the Berkshire Mountains in Western Massachusetts. Our campers’ ages range from 7 to 15 years old. There are approximately 100 bunk counselors living in the cabins with the campers. Bunk counselors also teach classes in one or two specific program areas. Our ratio of staff to campers is typically 2-3 counselors living with 8-10 girls. There are also non-bunk staff positions available, such as Group Leaders and program directors, nurses, nursing students, office staff, dining hall staff and housekeeping and laundry staff.
Why Work at Camp Danbee?
Danbee’s daily program is instructional and active. We have numerous programs from athletics such as tennis, soccer, softball, and basketball, to aquatics, fine arts, rocketry, ropes and classes in creative arts, which include arts and crafts, pottery and woodcraft. The campers attend 5 scheduled activity periods a day where counselors provide skill-based, fun instruction.
Danbee is located approximately 3 1/2; hours from New York City, and 3 hours from Boston. We are in a culturally rich area with places like Tanglewood (the summer home of the Boston Symphony), Jacob’s Pillow (a world-renowned dance company) and the Norman Rockwell Museum all located within less than an hour’s drive. We take advantage of this ideal location by taking our girls on both day and overnight trips outside of camp.
Staff Experience
Danbee is full of spirit! We are a fun, busy and energetic place. We dance at meals, sing and cheer constantly. One of our favorite mottos is “Dance Like No One Is Watching”. As a staff member at Danbee you will be embraced as a member of our summer family. You will work long, tiring days, while having fun “dancing like no one is watching” and forming very special bonds with the girls as well as with the people you work with. Your summer at Danbee will be one that is special, unique and one that you will never forget.
