Established in 1967, Camp Med-o-lark is an independent choice, arts-focused, coed residential summer camp that welcomes campers and counselors from around the world. The Camp Administrator’s primary responsibilities include family enrollment, outreach, and guiding our families from initial inquiry to the completion of their immersive art camp experience. The Camp administrator is a vital member of the Med-o-lark team, as they are the primary point of contact between parents/families and the camp and should support our inclusive artistic community to which we cater. The Administrator warmly and enthusiastically greets families, campers, staff members,, and guests and has a smile in their voice when communicating over the phone/video/email.
The ideal candidate will have a customer service focus and will not hesitate to jump into all areas of camp; they will manage the office but serve on campus as a leader utilizing their interests and skills. Strong organizational skills, technology and computer proficiency, utilizing our camper management system, and adaptability to change are essential. Must be onsite in Washington, Maine, from June through August and remote from September through May—some travel. Housing, meals, and laundry are provided onsite. Previous residential camping experience is also preferred. An arts background is preferred but not required.

Camp Danbee is currently hiring Pottery/Ceramics instructors to spend their summer instructing our campers in everything from the basics of pottery to throwing on the wheel! Our Pottery studio has 6 wheels and 2 kilns and is one of our most popular programs at camp. You will specialize in this activity, so you must have extensive knowledge, however you will be a part of a team of instructors and can have specialties in specific areas. We’re looking for passionate, skilled individuals to be great roles models for our campers!
The Role:
You will serve a dual role as a counselor at Camp Danbee. Those roles include being cabin counselor and program instructor. As a cabin counselor, you and one to three other co-counselors will live in a cabin with 10-12 campers, whom you will supervise for the summer. As a program instructor, you will help prepare and lead instructional lessons in your dedicated program area.
Male instructors do not live in cabins with campers, and will have additional duties outside of program instructional time – you’re a valuable part of the camp family!
Working at camp is an opportunity to develop skills that can be used in a career outside of camp. You will enhance your leadership, collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills. Camp Danbee has a large leadership team to learn from, from multiple college Head Coaches to experienced professionals across the education, outdoor recreation, and sports industries.
We will work with your college/university to earn paid internship credits.
