Camp Starlight is a seven-week, traditional sleepaway camp for boys and girls ages 7 to 15. Located in Wayne County in Northern Pennsylvania, our camp sits in the beautiful “Endless Mountains,” just two and a half hours from New York City. For more than 75 years, Camp Starlight has built a strong summer camping tradition rooted in spirit, adventure, family, and lifelong memories.

This role is active, social, and rewarding. One day, you may be helping a camper improve a skill. The next, you may be cheering at an evening activity or joining a silly camp tradition. Every moment helps create the magic of camp.
At Starlight, counselors and campers live together in modern bunks, creating an all-inclusive summer experience built around community. You will join a staff of 300 people from around the world and help support 560 enthusiastic campers.

Camp Starlight is located in Wayne County, Pennsylvania, in the Endless Mountains region. It is about 2.5 hours from New York City and Philadelphia. The 385-acre campus includes two private lakes, wooded space, and a mile-long private road.
Working at Camp Starlight is active, rewarding, and full of responsibility. Counselors support campers, lead activities, manage bunk life, and help create a fun, safe summer experience. The days are long, but the impact is meaningful.
Camp Starlight hires Bunk Specialists and Activity Specialists. Bunk Specialists travel with their campers throughout the day. Activity Specialists teach in a specific program area while also living and working in a bunk. Camp Starlight also hires Department Heads and Support Staff.
Yes. Camp Starlight provides a week-long staff orientation before campers arrive. Training covers the daily program, counselor responsibilities, child management, problem solving, and camp life. In addition, staff receive continued support throughout the summer.
Staff live in modern bunks with campers. Each bunk typically houses 8 to 10 campers and 2 to 3 counselors. Bunks include beds, cubbies, storage space, sinks, toilets, showers, hot water, outlets, and safety detectors.
Most staff living expenses are covered during the summer. This includes room, board, and laundry services. Staff also receive salary, a travel allowance, and seven staff shirts provided during orientation.
Camp Starlight provides transportation to and from camp from the New York Metropolitan area. Staff may also choose their own travel plans. In addition, each salary includes a travel allowance paid at the end of summer.
