About

Walton’s Grizzly Lodge provides the ideal summer camp setting for children ages 7 – 14. Located one hour north of Lake Tahoe, in the Sierras of Northern California, camp life centers around our private lake. Campers choose daily from over 40 activities including water sports, horseback riding, craft activities, athletics, archery and our popular ropes course activities which includes a 500 foot zip line across our lake.

Operated by fourth generation owners and directors, the rich history and tradition of Walton’s make it the premier residential summer camp on the West Coast. Since 1926, Walton’s Grizzly Lodge has helped generations of campers create memories and friendships to last a lifetime.

How We Accommodate International Campers

Walton's Grizzly Lodge staff meet campers at the Reno - Tahoe International Airport and accompany them to camp (45 minute drive). We have had many international campers over the years and have found that campers with all levels of English language proficiency can thrive in the camp environment.

We are happy to work with parents ahead of time to make special arrangements to help each camper be successful. Feel free to email or call us! We look forward to helping make your American Summer Camp Experience the best!
