Camps Equinunk & Blue Ridge are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Zumba Instructor to bring movement, music, and fun to our fitness and wellness programming for the summer. This role is ideal for someone who loves dance-based fitness and enjoys motivating campers through upbeat, engaging classes.
The Zumba Instructor plays an important role in encouraging physical activity, confidence, and self-expression in a lively camp environment.
Role Overview
As a Zumba Instructor, you will lead high-energy Zumba classes designed to get campers moving while building coordination, confidence, and joy through music and dance. Classes will be age-appropriate, inclusive, and focused on fun as much as fitness.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead Zumba-based group fitness classes for campers
- Teach dance routines that promote coordination, rhythm, and confidence
- Adapt instruction for different ages and ability levels
- Encourage participation and positive energy in every class
- Maintain a safe and organized fitness environment
- Assist with setup and care of equipment and sound systems
- Serve as a positive role model within the camp community
Age Requirement
- Must be 21 years or older by the start of camp
Required Experience
- Zumba instruction experience or strong dance fitness background
- Experience leading group fitness or dance classes preferred
- Comfort working with children or teens in an active setting
Required Skills
- Knowledge of Zumba choreography and music-driven movement
- High energy level and engaging teaching style
- Clear communication and motivational skills
- Ability to create an inclusive and supportive class environment
- Strong sense of rhythm and coordination
Certifications & Additional Requirements
- Zumba certification
- Group workout class certification
- Ability to meet all camp background check and staff training requirements
