Camps Equinunk & Blue Ridge are seeking a skilled and dependable Sous Chef to support our kitchen operations for the summer. This role is ideal for a culinary professional who enjoys working in a team-oriented environment and helping manage daily food service for a large camp community.
The Sous Chef works closely with the Head Chef to ensure efficient kitchen operations, consistent food quality, and adherence to food safety standards.
Role Overview
As the Sous Chef, you will assist with menu execution, food preparation, and kitchen staff supervision. You’ll help maintain smooth daily operations, support food safety protocols, and ensure meals are prepared on time and to camp standards while contributing to a positive kitchen culture.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations
- Prepare and oversee food production for meals and events
- Supervise and support kitchen staff as needed
- Ensure food quality, consistency, and proper presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and health guidelines
- Assist with inventory management and food storage
- Help train and mentor kitchen staff
Required Experience
- Professional kitchen or culinary experience
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred

- Strong food preparation and culinary skills
