Do you love sailing and working with kids? Camp Mah-Kee-Nac is seeking Sailing Instructors to teach and lead our sailing program on beautiful Stockbridge Bowl Lake, while also serving as a summer bunk counselor — living in a cabin, caring for campers, and being a positive role model every day.
As a Sailing Instructor & Bunk Counselor, you’ll combine your passion for sailing with meaningful mentorship, giving campers the skills, confidence, and joy of life on the water.
Sailing Responsibilities:
- Teach sailing lessons to campers of all levels, from beginners to experienced sailors.
- Lead daily sessions in rigging, sailing techniques, safety, and teamwork.
- Maintain boats and equipment, ensuring a safe and fun waterfront environment.
- Support camp-wide aquatics programming and special events on the lake.
Bunk Counselor Responsibilities:
- Live in a cabin with campers (ages 7–16) and provide daily supervision, guidance, and mentorship.
- Create a safe, supportive, and fun bunk environment where campers feel at home.
- Lead and participate in camp traditions, evening programs, and special events.
- Be a role model by bringing energy, responsibility, and care to both bunk life and camp programs.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience teaching or leading sailing (instruction, coaching, or competitive sailing background).
- Knowledge of small boat sailing and safety practices.
- Enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring kids.
- Positive, flexible attitude and strong team player mindset.
