Camps Equinunk & Blue Ridge are seeking a creative and skilled Fine Arts Instructor to join our visual arts program for the summer. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys teaching drawing, painting, and other fine art techniques while inspiring creativity and confidence in young artists.
The Fine Arts Instructor plays an important role in helping campers explore self-expression, develop artistic skills, and take pride in their creative work.
Role Overview
As a Fine Arts Instructor, you will plan and lead fine art classes for campers of varying ages and experience levels. You’ll introduce campers to different artistic techniques and media while maintaining a supportive, encouraging, and well-organized studio environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead daily fine arts instruction and creative sessions
- Teach drawing, painting, and other fine art techniques
- Introduce campers to different styles, tools, and materials
- Encourage creativity, experimentation, and artistic confidence
- Adapt projects for different ages and skill levels
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized art studio
- Assist with setup, cleanup, and care of art supplies
- Serve as a positive role model within the camp community
Age Requirement
- Must be 18 years or older by the start of camp
Required Experience
- Background in fine arts such as drawing, painting, or visual design
- Experience teaching or guiding others through creative processes preferred
- Experience working with children or teens in a group setting is a plus

- Strong understanding of fine art techniques and materials
- Ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently
- Organized and supportive teaching style
- Creativity and enthusiasm for visual arts
- Ability to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
Certifications & Additional Requirements
- Studying for an Art degree or similar
- Can demonstrate a portfolio of work during the interview
- Ability to meet all camp background check and staff training requirements
