Camps Equinunk & Blue Ridge are seeking reliable and motivated Cooks to join our kitchen team for the summer. This role is ideal for culinary school students who enjoy preparing food in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and want to contribute to the daily well-being of campers and staff.
Cooks play a vital role in camp life by helping prepare nutritious, high-quality meals that fuel a busy and active camp community.
Role Overview
As a Cook, you will assist with daily food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations under the guidance of the Head Chef and Sous Chef. You’ll help ensure meals are prepared on time, meet quality standards, and follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals for campers and staff
- Assist with food prep, cooking, and plating as needed
- Follow menus and recipes as directed by kitchen leadership
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
- Assist with setup, service, and cleanup for meals
- Support the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations
Age Requirement
- Must be 21 years or older by the start of camp
Required Experience
- Cooking or food preparation experience preferred
- Experience working in a kitchen or food service environment
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
Required Skills
- Basic cooking and food preparation skills
- Knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation practices
