Camps Equinunk & Blue Ridge are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Commissary Manager to oversee food inventory, storage, and distribution for the summer. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys logistics, organization, and supporting large-scale food service operations in a camp environment.
The Commissary Manager plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in ensuring the kitchen and dining operations run smoothly and efficiently each day.
Role Overview
As the Commissary Manager, you will be responsible for managing food deliveries, inventory, storage, and distribution to support daily meal preparation. You’ll work closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chef, and kitchen leadership to ensure supplies are well-stocked, properly stored, and easily accessible while maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Receive, organize, and store food deliveries
- Maintain accurate inventory of food, supplies, and consumables
- Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and rotation
- Distribute ingredients and supplies to kitchen staff as needed
- Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages to kitchen leadership
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Support kitchen operations during peak service times as needed
Required Experience
- Experience in inventory management, commissary work, or food service operations preferred
- Experience working in kitchens, warehouses, or supply management roles
- Ability to manage physical tasks such as lifting and organizing supplies
