Camps Equinunk & Blue Ridge are seeking an experienced and organized Chef to lead our food service operation for the summer. This role is ideal for a culinary professional who enjoys managing a high-volume kitchen, leading a team, and creating nutritious, appealing meals in a camp environment.
The Head Chef plays a critical role in daily camp life, ensuring campers and staff are well-fed, safe, and supported through consistent, high-quality food service.
Role Overview
As the Chef, you will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, staff supervision, and food safety. You’ll work closely with camp leadership and kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily service while accommodating dietary needs and maintaining a positive, efficient kitchen culture.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee daily menus for campers and staff
- Supervise kitchen staff including cooks, prep staff, and dish room personnel
- Ensure meals are prepared and served on schedule
- Maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and safety
- Accommodate dietary restrictions and allergy protocols
- Manage food inventory, ordering, and storage
- Ensure compliance with health department and camp food safety standards
- Collaborate with camp leadership on special events and themed meals
- Maintain an organized, efficient, and respectful kitchen environment
Required Experience
- Professional kitchen or culinary leadership experience
- Experience managing kitchen staff and operations
- Experience cooking for large groups preferred
