Camps Equinunk & Blue Ridge are seeking creative and enthusiastic Arts & Crafts Instructors to join our creative arts program for the summer. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with a variety of art materials and inspiring creativity in a fun, supportive camp environment.
Arts & Crafts Instructors play an important role in helping campers explore self-expression, build confidence, and develop artistic skills through hands-on projects.
Role Overview
As an Arts & Crafts Instructor, you will plan and lead engaging art projects for campers of varying ages and skill levels. You’ll introduce campers to different techniques and materials while creating a welcoming space that encourages creativity, imagination, and pride in their work.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead daily arts and crafts activities and instructional sessions
- Teach a variety of creative techniques using different materials
- Encourage creativity, self-expression, and confidence
- Adapt projects for different ages and skill levels
- Maintain a safe, organized, and inspiring art space
- Assist with setup, cleanup, and care of art supplies
- Serve as a positive role model within the camp community
Age Requirement
- Must be 21 years or older by the start of camp
Required Experience
- Experience with arts, crafts, or creative instruction preferred
- Experience working with children or teens in a group setting
- Comfort leading hands-on creative activities
Required Skills
- Creativity and enthusiasm for visual arts and crafts
- Ability to explain techniques clearly and patiently
- Strong organization and classroom management skills
- Positive, encouraging teaching style
- Flexibility and adaptability in a creative environment
Certifications & Additional Requirements
- Studying for an Art degree or similar
- Can demonstrate a portfolio of work during the interview
- Ability to meet all camp background check and staff training requirements
