Summer Camp Activities at Everwood Day Camp
With more than 60 activities, every day at Everwood Day Camp brings new opportunities to play, create, explore, and grow. Everwood’s facilities and dynamic programming are designed to keep campers engaged at every age, from 4-year-olds through 15-year-olds, with each activity adapted to encourage full participation and age-appropriate skill development. Campers can explore Adventure, Nature and Science, Creative Arts, Performing Arts, Sports, Aquatics, and more throughout the summer.
As campers get older, they also gain more choice in how they spend their day through Everwood’s elective program, allowing them to focus on favorite activities, explore new interests, and take greater ownership of their camp experience. Teen campers continue building independence through a progression of leadership opportunities, including Everwood’s Counselor in Training (CIT) program for campers entering 10th grade. This age-based approach keeps every summer fresh, engaging, and focused on helping campers build confidence, skills, friendships, and independence.
Swim Instruction
Swimming is a cornerstone of the Everwood experience. Campers from Pre-K through entering 4th grade receive swim instruction focused on water safety, confidence, and skill development, while older campers can choose swim lessons as an elective.
Waterfront
Everwood’s location on Lake Massapoag gives campers plenty of ways to enjoy the water, including kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, recreational swimming, beach time, and the inflatable WIBIT obstacle course.
Athletics
Everwood combines skill development, active play, and good sportsmanship through activities such as basketball, soccer, flag football, pickleball, street hockey, kickball, ultimate frisbee, GAGA ball, Wiffle ball, and more.
Creating & Performing Arts
Campers can express their creativity through arts and crafts, painting, ceramics, jewelry making, textiles, woodworking, dance, theater, music, gymnastics, STEAM activities, and other hands-on experiences.
Adventure
Across Everwood’s wooded property, campers challenge themselves through high and low ropes, archery, nature exploration, fishing, orienteering, survival skills, team-building challenges, and other outdoor adventures.
Special Events
Everwood’s special events bring campers together for traditions, celebrations, themed activities, camp songs, games, and one-of-a-kind experiences that make every summer memorable.
Electives
Campers entering 3rd through 10th grade can personalize part of their day through Everwood’s elective program. Designed as week-long mini-workshops, electives give campers dedicated time each day to focus on activities they already love, explore new interests, and build skills with greater independence.
The amount of elective time increases as campers get older. Entering 3rd graders have one elective period, 4th graders have two, 5th and 6th graders have three, and 7th and 8th graders have four. Campers choose from a rotating list of activities and rank their preferences each week, giving them fresh opportunities throughout the summer. Electives remain within each age division, so campers participate alongside peers in their own program group. If a camper tries an elective and decides it is not the right fit, they may request a switch for the remainder of the week, subject to availability. Everwood’s elective program gives older campers more choice, ownership, and flexibility while helping them develop new skills and discover what excites them most.
