Camp North Star is hiring for summer 2026!
Camp North Star is a traditional co-ed summer camp with multiple week options, located in southern Maine. Our campers’ ages range from 7 to 17 years old. Being a Camp North Star staff member is the most fun and rewarding summer job there is. As a staff member you will be living and working with campers and other staff members, developing life long friendships and gaining valuable work and life experience. In addition to a truly memorable summer experience, below are a number of details regarding working at camp that you should know before the summer.
Why Work at Camp North Star?
Competitive Salary: Salaries range from $2200 to $3500. Age, camp experience and special skills and advanced certifications are all taken into consideration when determining salary amounts. All employees must be legal to work in the US by being a US citizen or holding a J-1 visa. Most camp positions also include room and board. Staff members have generous amounts of paid time off to enjoy all that Maine has to offer. Camp staff members are not allowed to accept any tips or gifts. All campers are to be treated on a fair and equitable basis. Special favors or service for individuals would defeat the purpose of camp.
Bunk Life: Most camp staff members are living in our cabins with our campers. Cabins are furnished with wooden bunk beds, electricity, cubby space for personal belongings, two full private bathrooms, and 8 to 10 campers and 2 to 3 staff members. Campers are grouped by age, grade and gender and live with staff members of the same gender. All camp staff members, even those living in staff only lodging, are trained to live with campers and should be prepared to step into such role if necessary or as assigned. We are a team, working together, to ensure each and every camper a great camp experience. At camp North Star, the kids come first!
