Camp Laurel is looking for talented photographers and videographers to help document daily life at camp and share the summer with families at home. These are dedicated media positions and are not in-bunk counselor roles, allowing team members to focus on capturing, editing, and organizing visual content throughout the summer.
Photographers and videographers move throughout camp each day covering athletics, waterfront, activities, special events, friendships, traditions, and the everyday moments that tell the story of Laurel. Media staff work independently much of the time, while staying closely connected with the wider camp community and leadership team.
Responsibilities
- Capture high-quality photo or video content throughout camp
- Cover activities, special events, performances, competitions, and everyday camp life
- Make sure different age groups and program areas are represented consistently
- Select, edit, organize, and upload content throughout the summer
- Maintain an organized workflow and media library
- Coordinate with camp leadership to identify important events and moments to capture
- Care for and manage camera, video, and editing equipment
- Produce content that helps families feel connected to their campers throughout the summer
Photographer qualifications
Strong photography candidates should have experience with DSLR or mirrorless cameras and a good understanding of composition, lighting, portraiture, and action photography. Experience with Lightroom, Photoshop, or similar editing software is preferred.
A photography portfolio or examples of previous work are strongly encouraged.
Videographer qualifications
Strong videography candidates should be comfortable filming in a fast-moving environment and turning raw footage into polished, engaging videos. Experience with professional or prosumer camera equipment and editing software such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve is preferred.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate strong visual storytelling skills through a reel, portfolio, or examples of previous video work.
What we’re looking for
Both photographers and videographers should be creative, dependable, organized, and comfortable working around children. You should be able to take initiative, recognize moments worth capturing, and manage your own workload while contributing to the broader camp community.
This is a great summer opportunity for photographers, filmmakers, and media students looking to strengthen their portfolios while gaining extensive hands-on experience in a busy, creative environment.
