Camps Equinunk & Blue Ridge are seeking skilled and safety-focused Boat Drivers & Waterski / Wakeboard Instructors to join our waterfront team for the summer.
This role is ideal for individuals who are confident operating powerboats and enjoy teaching waterskiing and wakeboarding to campers of varying ages and skill levels. Instructors play a key role in creating a fun, safe, and confidence-building experience on the water.
Role Overview
As a Boat Driver & Waterski / Wakeboard Instructor, you will operate ski boats, instruct campers in waterskiing and wakeboarding techniques, and ensure all waterfront safety protocols are followed. You’ll work closely with waterfront leadership and fellow staff to deliver a high-quality aquatic program while supporting the overall camp environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Safely operate camp ski boats during instructional and recreational periods
- Teach basic and advanced waterskiing and wakeboarding skills
- Supervise campers on the water and dock areas
- Enforce all boating and waterfront safety rules
- Perform equipment checks and assist with daily setup and breakdown
- Communicate clearly with campers and staff during waterfront sessions
- Serve as a positive role model throughout the camp day
Age Requirement
- Must be 18 years or older by the start of camp
Required Experience
- Strong waterskiing and/or wakeboarding ability
- Prior experience operating powerboats
- Experience teaching or assisting in watersports instruction preferred
- Comfort working with children or teens in an active outdoor setting
Required Skills
- Confident and responsible boat operation
- Strong situational awareness and decision-making skills
- Ability to teach and demonstrate watersports techniques
- Clear communication and leadership skills
- Calm demeanor in fast-paced waterfront environments
Certifications & Additional Requirements
- Valid boating license or certification (required where applicable)
- CPR / First Aid certification preferred
- Ability to meet all camp background check and staff training requirements
