Berkshire Trails is looking for energetic, responsible staff to join our waterfront team in one of the following specialty areas:
- Experienced boat drivers for water skiing and wakeboarding
- Certified lifeguards
- Sailing instructors
At Berkshire Trails, every camper-facing staff member has a dual role. You’ll live in a cabin with campers and take on the responsibilities of a cabin counselor while also spending part of each day teaching, coaching, or supervising in your waterfront specialty.
Responsibilities
- Live with and supervise a cabin group throughout the summer
- Help campers with daily routines, meals, transitions, evening activities, and cabin life
- Teach or supervise campers in your assigned waterfront area
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and positive waterfront environment
- Adapt instruction for different ages and experience levels
- Encourage campers to build confidence and try new skills
- Work closely with waterfront leadership and fellow counselors
What we’re looking for
Strong candidates should be excited about both parts of the job: working closely with campers as a counselor and bringing real skill to a waterfront program area.
Boat drivers should have meaningful experience driving boats for water skiing or wakeboarding. Lifeguard applicants must hold a current lifeguarding certification. Sailing instructors should be confident teaching basic sailing skills and supervising campers on the water.
