About Camp Wayne

Since 1921, Camp Wayne, a family-owned "brother-sister" camp, has been a place where friendships and memories extend long past summer. The Wayne Experience is about learning, developing relationships, building confidence and, most of all, having fun. We know that our campers return year after year because of their friends and counselors who become "Brothers for Life." It is with these "Brothers" that our campers will learn and develop valuable communication, teamwork and leadership skills that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

Our program offers the perfect mix of bunk and group activities, as well as individual elective periods. As campers get older, they have more choice in their daily schedule. Campers have plenty of opportunity to improve upon those activities they enjoy most and learn new activities along the way.

Our outstanding sports program includes both instructional activities and a daily league period that we call Conference. At the start of the camp season, our campers are divided into four teams: Harvard, Dartmouth, Princeton and Yale. (We want our kids to start thinking about colleges early.) The Conference period brings energy and excitement to the daily program and runs throughout the camp season until we break Color War. The traditional “Steve Weingard Memorial Gitch” is the final Conference event of the summer and ends with our CIT team leaders shooting a half-court shot to win the all camp relay event.

Selecting the right camp is just the beginning of the summer camp journey. We encourage you to explore our camp and see for yourself why Camp Wayne has been such a special place for generation upon generation of campers.
