Camp Robin Hood is looking for energetic and knowledgeable Athletic Coaches to teach and lead campers in one of our specialty sports areas. Current coaching needs include:
- Baseball
- Basketball
- Fitness
- Soccer
Athletic Coaches at Robin Hood are Specialty Counselors, which means you’ll spend much of your day teaching one primary sport or activity to campers of different ages from both Boys Camp and Girls Camp. You’ll also live and eat with one age group, becoming part of that group’s camp experience outside of your coaching responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Teach fundamentals, skills, drills, and game strategy in your specialty area
- Plan and lead age-appropriate practices, games, and skill-building activities
- Adapt instruction for campers with different experience and ability levels
- Encourage effort, teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence
- Help keep athletic areas and equipment organized and ready for daily programming
- Work with other coaches and program leaders to create a positive athletic environment
- Participate with your assigned camper group when your specialty area is not operating
What we’re looking for
Strong candidates should have meaningful playing, coaching, or instructional experience in at least one of the listed sports. You should be comfortable demonstrating skills, explaining techniques clearly, and keeping campers engaged in an active group setting.
Just as importantly, Robin Hood is looking for coaches who enjoy working with children and want to be part of the broader camp community. Specialty Counselors work with campers across camp during the activity day while also building close relationships with the age group they live and spend meals with.
