Join the Kenmont & Kenwood Camps Media Team
Kenmont & Kenwood Camps are looking for creative photographers, videographers, and photography instructors to join us for an incredible summer in Connecticut.
Our media team helps capture daily life at camp, from activities and special events to the small moments that make each summer memorable. Depending on the position, you may be photographing campers throughout the day, producing polished video content, teaching photography, or doing a combination of both.
Camp Photographers
Our camp photographers are part of the daily camp community. This is an in-bunk position, which means photographers also live with campers and take on counselor responsibilities alongside their photography work.
We’re looking for photographers who are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, connecting with kids, and capturing everything from sports and waterfront activities to friendships, performances, and special events.
Photographer responsibilities include:
- Photograph campers, activities, trips, special events, and everyday camp life
- Capture a mix of candid, action, portrait, and group photography
- Edit, organize, and upload photos regularly
- Help make sure different activities and age groups are represented throughout the summer
- Live in a bunk with campers and take part in counselor responsibilities
- Work closely with the media and leadership teams to document the camp experience
We’re looking for photographers who have:
- Experience using DSLR or mirrorless cameras
- A strong understanding of composition, lighting, and action photography
- Experience with Lightroom, Photoshop, or similar editing software
- A portfolio or examples of previous photography
- The energy and personality to work closely with children in a residential camp setting
Professional experience is welcome, but a strong portfolio, good instincts behind the camera, and the ability to connect with campers matter most.
Videographer
Our videographer is a more experienced, non-bunk media position focused on creating high-quality video content that tells the story of Kenmont & Kenwood throughout the summer.
We’re looking for someone who can confidently handle the full production process, from filming and planning shots to editing finished videos for camp families, social media, and future marketing.
Videographer responsibilities include:
- Film activities, special events, traditions, trips, and everyday camp life
- Produce engaging short-form and longer-form video content
- Edit and organize footage throughout the summer
- Work with camp leadership to identify important stories and moments to capture
- Create polished content for social media, family updates, and promotional use
- Maintain and manage video equipment and footage
We’re looking for a videographer who has:
- Strong videography and editing experience
- A portfolio or reel demonstrating previous work
- Experience with professional or prosumer camera equipment
- Proficiency with Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar editing software
- Strong visual storytelling skills and the ability to work independently
- Drone filming experience preferred
This role is ideal for a filmmaker or content creator looking for a professional summer production opportunity in a unique, fast-moving environment.
Photography Instructors
We are also looking for enthusiastic photography instructors who can introduce campers to photography and help them build their creative skills.
You do not need to be a professional photographer for this role. This can be a great fit for someone who enjoys photography as a serious hobby, has taken photography classes, or has experience with cameras and wants to share that interest with kids.
Photography instructors will:
- Teach fun, age-appropriate photography activities and lessons
- Help campers learn camera basics, composition, lighting, and creative techniques
- Encourage campers to experiment and develop their own style
- Help manage photography equipment and activity spaces
- Create a welcoming environment for campers of different experience levels
Experience teaching or working with children is helpful, but enthusiasm, patience, and a genuine interest in photography are just as important.
Spend Your Summer at Kenmont & Kenwood
Working at camp gives you the chance to build your portfolio, gain hands-on experience, meet people from around the world, and spend the summer as part of a close-knit camp community.
In addition to compensation, summer staff receive room and board and other camp-provided benefits throughout the season.
If you’re excited to spend your summer behind the camera, teaching something you love, or helping us tell the story of Kenmont & Kenwood, we’d love to hear from you.
