The Head of Culinary leads one of camp’s most popular specialty programs, planning and running engaging cooking classes for campers throughout the summer. This is a senior role for someone with strong culinary experience who is comfortable taking ownership of the program from lesson planning through execution.
In addition to teaching campers in the kitchen, the Head of Culinary develops recipes and lesson plans, prepares meals and ingredients, creates shopping lists, manages supplies, and works within the program’s budget. They are responsible for keeping the culinary program organized, well stocked, and running smoothly while creating classes that are fun, hands-on, and appropriate for different camper age groups.
Ideal candidates are mature, organized, confident in the kitchen, and comfortable managing a program independently. This position is typically best suited to a post-graduate candidate or someone with relevant professional, teaching, hospitality, or culinary experience.
The Head of Culinary is part of the camp community but does not live in a camper bunk, making it a great fit for an experienced candidate looking for a higher-responsibility summer role with separate staff housing.
*Candidates should be 18 years or older and available to work at Camp between 6/14 and 8/18.
