Lead the tennis program at a children’s overnight summer camp in Kent, Connecticut.
KenMont & KenWood is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Head of Tennis to lead our summer tennis program for campers ages 7–15.
As Head of Tennis, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operation of the tennis program, develop engaging instruction for campers of different ages and skill levels, and help lead and support the tennis coaching staff. You’ll spend your summer teaching the fundamentals of the game, improving campers’ skills, and creating a positive environment where campers can develop confidence and a love for tennis.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the camp’s tennis program
- Plan and organize tennis lessons, drills, games, and activities for campers ages 7–15
- Teach tennis fundamentals, technique, strategy, and match play
- Supervise, support, and provide direction to other tennis coaches
- Adapt instruction for different ages and ability levels
- Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging tennis environment
- Coordinate with camp leadership and the athletics team
- Help create an enthusiastic and inclusive atmosphere for campers
Staff must live on campgrounds for the duration of their contract. This position is a non-bunk position.
Qualifications
Previous tennis coaching, teaching, or competitive playing experience is required. Leadership or program management experience is strongly preferred.
We’re looking for someone who is confident leading both campers and staff, passionate about tennis, and excited to share that enthusiasm with young players. Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills are important for this role.
