Camp Weequahic is hiring for summer 2027!

Thank you for your interest in working at Camp Weequahic. A summer job here is more than a job. It is an adventure, a leadership opportunity, and a chance to become part of a close-knit camp community.

Each day brings something new. You will build friendships with fellow counselors, lead fun activities, and help campers grow through meaningful summer experiences. Along the way, you will gain confidence, build real leadership skills, and create memories that last long after camp ends.

Make an Impact Through Gratitude, Attitude, and Courage

At Weequahic, our mission is to create an amazing experience for everyone we meet through gratitude, attitude, and courage. That starts with hiring staff who are skilled, responsible, enthusiastic, and ready to put campers first.

Working at a sleepaway camp is often called the toughest job you’ll ever love. It takes energy, patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude. However, if you arrive ready to lead, care, and contribute, you can have one of the most rewarding summers of your life.

What Camp Counselors Do

Camp Weequahic counselors have a dual role. You live in cabins with campers and also teach or coach in one or more activity areas during the day. These areas may include athletics, aquatics, adventure, arts, STEM, outdoor living, and more.

While we look for strong teaching skills in at least one area, you may also support other programs throughout the summer. You will not be doing it alone. Program Heads train staff to lead engaging activities, while Division Heads guide counselors in creating a safe, fun, and welcoming cabin experience.

In addition, the leadership team is onsite throughout the summer to provide supervision, feedback, and support. At Camp Weequahic, you will work hard, learn quickly, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of campers.
